수동태에서 "주어+ Be 동사"를 뺀 나머지 부분은 따로 중요한 기능을 합니다.
먼저 "주어+ Be 동사를 뺀 나머지 부분"이란 어떤 것인지 보자면
She is loved by me.에서 "주어+ Be 동사"를 빼면
loved by me.만 남습니다.
The car is driven by her. 에서 "주어+ Be 동사"를 빼면
driven by her.만 남습니다.
A bird was shot by the hunter. 에서 "주어+ Be 동사"를 빼면
shot by the hunter.만 남습니다.
I was raised by them,에서 "주어+ Be 동사"를 빼면
raised by them.만 남습니다.
이런 것들이 문장속에 적절히 들어가 중요한 역할을 합니다.

그들에 의해 키워진 탐은 감사의 표시로 그들에 집을 사주었다.
위와 같은 형태의 문장은 수도 없이 많기 때문에 일일이 예를 들기 어려울 정도이지만
몇개의 예를 더 들어보겠습니다.
The children loved by their parents show high possibility to succeed.
부모에게 사랑받는 아이들은 보다 높은 성공 가능성을 보여준다
The box hidden by someone in the closet is the one they have tried to find.
누군가에게 다락방에 숨겨진 박스가 그둘이 찾고자 하는 것이다.
A pilot escaped the fighter jet shot by the guerrilla.
겔리라에게 총격을 받은 전투기로부터 조종사가 탈출했다.
사실 이런형태는 "관계대명사+be동사"가 생략된 것입니다.
The girl loved by me went to America.
The girl who was loved by me went to America
The mechanic is fixing the car driven by her.
The mechanic is fixing the car which was driven by her.

그 차는, 그녀에 의해 운전됐다가, 사고에 끼어들게 됐다.

과거분사는 현재분사(동사+ing)와 더불어 문장속에서 아주 긴요한 기능을 합니다.
두가지의 다른 점은 현재분사는 능동적인 행동을, 과거분사는 수동적인 행동을 표현합니다.
He is a good son loving his parent.
그는 부모를 사랑하는 좋은 아들이다.
He is a good son loved by his parent.
그는 부모로부터 사랑받는 좋은 아들이다.
She walked in the park breaking his heart.
그녀는 그 남자의 가슴을 찢어지게 만들며 공원을 걸었다.
She walked in the park with broken heart.
그녀는 찢어지는 가슴을 안고 공원을 걸었다.
Driving a car, he sing a song.
차를 운전하며, 그는 노래를 헸다.
Driven by him, the car was broken,
그 사람에게 운전 되더니, 차가 망가졌다.
