지난 7월 11일 릴리즈됐습니다.

곡의  시발점은 그녀의 프로듀서인 Oak Felder과 그의 아내와의 대화에서 나왔다고 합니다.

LA에 거주하는 Oak Felder는 작업때문에 한달의 반은 Atlanta에 머물렀습니다.

그러던 중 주택을 구입하는 일이 생겼습니다.

이 과정에서 스트레스를 받은 부인이 그에게 역정스러운 전화를 했습니다.

그결과 다음과 같은 대화가 이어졌습니다.

대화는 이렇게 끝났고 약간 기분이 상한 그는 Demi Lovato에게 

아내에게 들은 소리  'I'm sorry but I'm not sorry."라는 제목으로 노래를 만들면 

어떻겠냐고 했습니다.

Oak Felder 얘기를 들은 Demi Lovato는 과거 사람들로부터 강요받은 "미안"이 생각났습니다.

특히 팬들로부터 받은 상처가 떠올랐다고 합니다.

그렇게 해서 작곡에 착수했습니다.
